Welcome to Morton’s Grove!

Everyday Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

If we don't have cookies, it is a bad day in our house.

Babies live here and babies freaking love cookies. Babies also need snacks, like, all the time.

Have you ever gone out to meet up with other babies and their moms whip out all of these amazing snacks/drinks and you pull out a completely flattened Larabar and a half-full Camelback of luke-warm water?

Me either.

But even if I pack a five course meal, Ruthie is only going to want the other babe's snacks. One of her besties always has Cheez-its and I, of course, never buy Cheeze-its cause I'm super lame. Ruthie will smash my homemade flax and chia bars right into the carpet and lunge at his little snack up. She then gets her hand stuck inside the crazy contraption and ends up hiding in the guest room, lid ripped off the bowl, inhaling Cheez-its. Luckily, his mom is super cool and often packs a bowl of Cheez-its just for her.

She doesn't trade in THESE cookies though. They are definitely full of oats and flax, but they are really, REALLY good. Even compared to a stolen cup of Cheez-its.

A lot of the ingredients in these cookies are thought to be lactation boosting. I asked a cool lactation guru that I pretend is my best friend for her opinion about milk-boosting foods. She isn't totally convinced that cookies and bars play massive role in production, but totally acknowledges that they’re delicious and might give a small boost to a mama already experiencing good production. Plus, these one handed snacks loaded with good quality ingredients are a new moms bff.

This batch is giant. You can roll them into balls for cookies or smash them into a rimmed baking sheet for bars but DEF gift them to a new mom in your life.
