THIS IS A RECIPE FOR PIZZA.
I tried to make it fancy and I called it a flat bread but it is just a pizza I'M SORRY.
I have been been wanting to put the word "summer" in a recipe for months and I've finally done it and it's ALMOST too late. Give it one more week and I bet our Pinterest feeds will be packed with pumpkins. Not complaining at all, I LOVE FALL just as much as the next predictable gal.
I first discovered Pinterest during the fall of 2007 when I was an unpaid intern living three hours from home. I was so smitten with all of the pics of Fall scenes and pumpkin spice latte DIYs and gourd arrangements and homemade bat decor and I got REALLY into crafting.
There is an awesome store I used to go to while interning called The Idea Store. They sell second hand crafting supplies: feathers for .99/lb (THAT'S A LOT OF FEATHERS), glue for $.15 a bottle, stickers, old jewelry, empty eyeglass frames, carts full of graduation hat tassels, wrapping paper and card stock scraps sold by the lb, picture frames, cook books, ribbon & thread, sewing templates UGH they had it all. And at such amazing prices I was able to outfit my first Pinterest inspired crafting spree, even with a negative income.
I'm so nostalgic for that time but while I was in it I just wanted it be over (aside from the crafting, loved that in the moment too). Funny how time works that way.
Bottom line: fall is coming and time is ticking for recipes containing the word "summer". Find a neighbor to lend you some zucchini and tomatoes and get going bud!
My pizza crust recipe is from Martha Stewart (I use 2 cups whole wheat flour + 2 cups all purpose)
